No. The dreaded words of the human society. We, as people never want to be told no. Weather we ask: “Do you love me” or “Can I go to Cheryl’s house?” We never want to hear that two-lettered word, No. But sometimes, even though we don’t want to hear it, we need to hear that word. I believe our fear of hearing no effects our conversations with our family, friends, and God. Yes, with God. I’ll show you what I mean. If you are praying, and you ask God. “I really want to go to Camp. Do you think I should go?” We really don’t want to hear: “No, don’t go to that Camp.” Some might assume to just not ask and simply do as they please. Some are scared to ask, they are scared to leave it up to God. Just a few days ago I realized I was avoiding asking God what I should do for fear of not getting the answer I wanted. It is selfish to think that way. It is an odd selfishness though. Because if we don’t ask for the fear of getting a no, we are missing out on a far greater plan that God has laid out for us! In His word He says:
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” -Jeremiah 29:11
Now that’s a plan I want to be a part of! Some have the right response. They are ok with getting the no from God because they know He has something better planned for their lives. I want to get to where I have that response. I want to say: “Ok God, you know best!” With a cheerful heart.
I have one more point to make. There is one question that I know for SURE He will not deny. It is the question of salvation.
”Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” -Matthew 7:7
I pray you WILL seek Him. That you will find Him. And you will know Him all the days of your life. There is a door to Him. He is waiting on the other side. Waiting for you.
Amen! So true.
